Careers guidance has returned on the policy agenda, as the Government launches its Information, Advice and Guidance Strategy, this strategy will also see the creation of a new Careers Service for adults.
The free event was attended by delegates from Universities, Educational Trusts, including Independent Careers Consultants and Careers Consultancies across the education and employment sector.
The debate Past its Sell-By Date? Career Guidance for the 21st Century was hosted by Dr Bill Law, founding Fellow, of the National Institute for Careers Education & Counselling and Dr Rachel Mulvey, Associate Dean of Psychology, at the University of East London. The debate saw both speakers in agreement on the subject of the way in which careers guidance is delivered and even the title as being out dated. Allister McGowan a NICEC Fellow and the current Chair of NICEC moderated the debate.
