Connecting people and communities through the power of radio
Birmingham; 20th June 2020; Hump Group, a community-oriented organisation established in 2015, is pleased to announce its partnership with Radio Mac Bradford by organising a weekly radio show that will aim to highlight the needs of the community.
Radio Mac Bradford will broadcast a live weekly discussion show beginning Tuesday 23rd June 2020 from 5PM – 7PM. Radio Mac Bradford is Bradford’s leading Muslim community radio station as well as serving all faiths and backgrounds. The show will include special guests Christina Adams (USA), an expert in autism and camel milk and the author of Camel Crazy, and Mudassar Yasin (UK), founder of Hump Group. The show will endeavour to promote positivity and connect people and communities through the power of radio by discussing topics that are not often widely and openly discussed. Christina Adams, international speaker and award-winning author, said, “From food and nutrition, to friendship and mental health, for families and individuals seeking knowledge and well-being, we’ll engage in a positive discussion to empower the community."
“We are extremely delighted to work in partnership with Radio Mac Bradford to bring a series of educational discussions to the community that will encourage interfaith community building and bridge cultural gaps through the beauty of camels. Such is a necessity, particularly during these unprecedented times where Covid19 has affected our communities, particularly the BAME community. Camels have long held historic importance in society and we strive to revive the significance of these remarkable animals to the wider community,” said Mudassar Yasin, founder of Hump Group. Hump Group focuses on raising the awareness of Bedouin traditions to the wider community and specialises in camel milk products.
Radio Mac Bradford serves the diverse Muslim and wider community of Bradford. It provides an entertaining and educational radio service for the minority ethnic communities, particularly for the Muslim community. Humair Shahid, Station Director said, “As a community radio station, Radio MAC is honoured to be in partnership with an organisation where addressing community needs are also its main focus point. Radio MAC believes that these shows will increase positivity, open-mindedness and connect people and communities by discussing taboo topics that are not often widely and openly discussed in the Muslim, South-Asian and wider communities.”
The weekly show is scheduled to run for 8 weeks and listeners can tune into the show by visiting www.radiomac.org, 107.1FM or call Freephone number + 44 (0) 330 992 1164 (international call charges may apply).
