London, 15th of March, 12pm, new singer/songwriter River Mara releases her debut single Lockdown Love on all streaming platforms including Spotify and Apple Music.
Lockdown Love is a fast tempo song with an entrancing beat, groove and rhythm, catchy hooks and a “vintage-meets-modern” funk/pop sound.
“When I started writing the song, my goal was to express my feelings of frustration about relationship problems that I was facing because of the lockdown, but by the time I started recording, my feelings had shifted. I think this creates a really nice contrast between the bluntness and harshness of some of the lyrics and the soft and playful way in which I sang them.” – River Mara
The single has a video on YouTube, which was entirely made by a young couple who live over a hundred miles away from each other and who have not been able to meet because of lockdown.
“I absolutely adore the song! It has an upbeat vibe that contrasts with the deep, personal lyrics and I think that was a very clever move on River Mara’s part. This song is relatable to many people who are currently dealing with lockdown and relationship problems. I think this song sheds light on both those topics which hasn’t been done like this before. It makes it so unique and likeable; not to mention how catchy it is!” – Kaia Angell, video director and editing
