Jim Cliff, of Aardvark Wedding Films, has introduced a new service called 'wedding video rescue', designed for those who are disappointed with how their amateur wedding video turned out.

"The most common problem with amateur wedding videos is a lack of editing," says Jim. "Even people who know their way around a camera usually don't have the time, skill or equipment required to turn their footage into an attractive, well paced, compelling video that really tells the story of someone's big day. That's where I come in."

Many of the technical issues that afflict amateur videos can also be fixed, according to Jim. Shaky handheld camerawork, poorly recorded sound, dodgy exposure and unnatural colours can be reduced or in some cases eliminated, using the latest digital editing techniques.

So, is this a cheap alternative to hiring a professional to film your wedding? Not so, warns Jim. "If your videographer didn't record the vows, or his only shot of you cutting the cake was horribly out of focus, there's not much I can do. I can't make amateur footage look like it was filmed by a professional with skill, experience, multiple high end cameras and wireless microphones. What I can do is make your video look and sound better, and edit it into a film you'll want to watch over and over again."
