CALIFORNIA, US, 2nd June 2023 - Ahead of the June 13th Anaheim legislative meeting, Unite Here Local 11 and the hotel industry are engaged in a vigorous discussion regarding the proposed legislation for mandatory panic buttons, higher wages, and workload limitations in the hospitality sector.
Unite Here Local 11 is championing the cause for significant wage increases, workload requirements, and improved worker safety by advocating for panic buttons, aiming to minimize workplace harassment and violence.
However, hoteliers are weighing this legislation with a key concern around the potential negative financial impact on the Anaheim Hospitality sector.
What both sides agree upon is implementing a panic button solution with indoor geolocation adds another layer of safety for Hotel Workers.
